Hi Friend! Welcome to ODAAT Chat. My name is Arlina and I’ll be your host.

The primary purpose of the podcast is to carry the message of hope to those who are suffering from addiction.  My guests and I talk about their addiction stories, what happened, what it was like and what a life of sobriety looks like now.

Through these conversations, I’m looking to uncover the new ideas, changes in perspective, and the daily habits or routines that lead to healing & long term recovery.

I have a quote for you today from Sarah Ban Breathnach, the author of the hugely popular book, Simple Abundance, A Daybook of Comfort and Joy.

She writes “You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: The more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given to you.”

Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy

That is in line with the truth that whatever we think about we bring about, or whatever we focus on expands.

Simple Abundance spent 2 years on the NYT Best seller list, the first year in the number one spot. I remember when it first came out in 1995. I saw her interviewed on Oprah, and the audience members shared how doing a gratitude list every day for 30 days changed their lives, so I tried it. For me, it’s had a subtle but profound effect. It’s probably one of my most consistent practices along with prayer and to a lesser degree meditation. For accountability, I write a list of 5 things I’m grateful for, take a pic and send it to a friend, and she sends one back to me. Give it a try and let me know about your experience!

Today’s conversation is with my friend Todd. I’ve known him for over 20 years and seen him go through a lot, evolve and grow into the person he is today. If you’d like to connect with Todd, here are some links:

And if you are listening my friend, I want you to know I am very proud of you.

With that, please enjoy this episode, with Todd

With love & gratitude,

Arlina
