In case you are wondering, the purpose of podcast is to clear up a lot of misconceptions about addiction and recovery, but to also to share the teachers, ideas and exercises that have helped me on my own journey over the last 22 years that fall outside the parameters of 12 step groups.<\/p>\n

Today I would like to share a book called \u201cThe Four Agreements\u201d by Don Miguel Ruiz. This is actually a very practical book that can act as a moral compass that also provides a way to maintain emotional balance. Let\u2019s face it, we all could use more of that, am I right??<\/p>\n

The for agreements are:<\/p>\n

1 Be impeccable with your word<\/p>\n

  1. Don\u2019t Take Anything Personally<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Don\u2019t Make Assumptions<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Always Do Your Best<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I know when I am upset about something, these 4 agreements are a quick way to help me find peace and balance. I could do a whole episode just talking about this book, and maybe if there\u2019s enough interest, we will do that. Just let me know on the blog.<\/p>\n

    In this episode I\u2019ll be talking with Christi who shares what it was like to lose a sponsor to a tragic accident, living with a \u201cnormie\u201d spouse, and dealing with a child in addiction.
