I\u2019m looking for a few brave souls who are willing to volunteer so that others may benefit from your example.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re interested, shoot me an email saying \u201cI\u2019m in\u201d to: podcastvolunteer@gmail.com<\/p>\n<p>So today I\u2019d like to introduce you to my new friend Jacob R Jones, the author of \u201cRecovered, How an unsustainable addiction lead to a sustained life\u201d where he tells the story of how he got addicted to opioids, how it affected his family and how he, with the help of a lot of other people, was able to overcome his addiction and recover.<\/p>\n<p>In this episode, we dive deep into his very sport centered family, including dad who was a professional football player and his high school coach. We talk about how he struggled with self consciousness and anxiety from being teased as a kid, to his subsequent opioid addiction which lead to a psychotic break. It\u2019s always fascinating to me to hear the sequence of events that leads someone out of that bondage because it so often involves a near death experience like Jacob\u2019s. But he makes it out of that deep despair and now he uses those experiences to help others do the same.
