Hi Friend!

If you are new here, my name is Arlina and you are joining your fellow listeners in over 42 countries!

For this week’s Sobriety Birthday Spotlight, I’d like to give a shout out to my sweet friend Susanne, who is celebrating her 3 year milestone on 12/6! Congrats Susanne and thank you for all your service!

If you’d like me to wish you or your friend a happy sobriety day, you can message me through the ODAAT Chat Facebook group!

So this is a podcast where my guests and I talk about how to recovery from alcoholism and addiction. I’m looking to uncover the causes and conditions of addiction, the lessons learned in recovery, and the tools and practices which lead to long term recovery.

Today my guest is Jesse Harless, recovery coach and author of “Smash Your Comfort Zone with Cold Showers: How to Boost Your Energy, Defeat Your Anxiety, and Overcome Unwanted Habits

But first, I have two new resources to share with you.

The first resource is a dietary program called “Metabolic Balance”, offered through my husband’s nutrition practice. I’ve lost a total of 18 lbs by learning what specific foods are good for my body, through a blood test. I lost the majority of the weight in the first 6 weeks. The meal plan that was developed for me answered the 3 big questions I always had: What to eat, how much and when. It takes all the guesswork out for me and taught me how to take of my body as it is now, which is very different from 10 years ago, if you know what i’m sayin…

There are no shakes or pills, it’s just the right foods in the right amounts for my specific body chemistry. Bob has lost over 47 lbs and this was so life changing for him that he started his practice and is now working with a group on their health goals. There’s a new group starting January 4th, so if you’d like to know more, visit Mymetabolicdiet.com or message me through the ODAAT Chat Facebook page.

The second resource I have for you is geared toward boosting your self esteem. It’s an online class starting 12/12/18 and it’s offered through SoberLifeSchool.com. It’s called “The Connection Cure – How to Build Self Esteem, break out of the Isolation Trap and Create Lasting Change”.

Building self esteem is the key component to transformation and cultivating the life you want to create.  I don’t care if you are just starting your journey of recovery or if you have been practicing for many years. Everyone can benefit improving self esteem through authentic connection with others like you.

This class includes all of the best tools and exercises that have helped me and millions of others transform their lives. Together in a live online class, you will have the support and momentum you need, to create lasting changes.

This will be the founders class, starting 12/12/18 7:00 PST. It will be a live online class for 6 weeks, with a safe and intimate group. Recordings will be made available in the private FB group.

So today on the podcast, we have Jesse Harless. He shares about the challenges of growing up the youngest of 3, with an absent alcoholic father and hard working single mother. We talk about how became addicted to drugs, how he overcame the addiction and how he had dedicated his life to helping others overcome their struggles. And of course, we talk about his book! I keep hearing about doing cold showers, or plunges from the Tim Ferriss podcast, and Wim Hoff ( you have to google this crazy guy, you just won’t believe what he can do with cold treatments until you see it ) anyway, I really enjoyed speaking with Jesse and I learned a lot from him.

If you would like to reach out to Jesse, here is his website: http://JesseHarless.com

With that, please enjoy this episode, with Jesse.

With gratitude,

Arlina
